Ginny's New Home
(Dalton Gang)
Climbed from #66 (July) to #49 (August issue Singing News).
Ginny was a little girl that lived in an orphan's home
Given up for adoption as a baby all alone
She had always been crippled since the day that she was born
And just to be adopted was all she was living for.
Now Ginny saw her little friends adopted all the time
With a hopeful heart she always dreamed, "It'll be me the next time"
But every night beside her bed you could hear her softly pray
As tears rolled from those big brown eyes that little girl would say,
CHORUS
I'm gonna live in a big house on a pretty street
Where everyone will know my name every time we meet
Then I'll be somebody with a family all my own
When someone adopts me and takes me to their home.
They found Ginny early one morning; her little diary in her hand
And read where she had written down over and over again
"I just know someone will come for me and maybe it's today"
But this time she didn't finish the lines cause the angels took her away.
CHORUS
Now she lives in a mansion on a street of gold
Where everyone knows her name every time they meet
She's really somebody with a family all her own
Jesus adopted Ginny and took them to his home.
TAG
Now she's not crippled anymore, She runs and jumps and plays
Oh, Jesus adopted Ginny and she lives in Heaven today.
